35th edition of Cloudflight Coding Contest including AI challenge for the first time

Munich, October 19, 2021Cloudflight, a leading software development and IT consulting company, will host its 35th Cloudflight Coding Contest on the 5th of November 2021. The globally popular contest celebrated its debut in 2007 at the Johannes Kepler University of Linz, Austria. After the last two editions took place as an online-only events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for the first time the contest will take place as a hybrid event this year. Over 4,000 coders from 16 countries competed during the last in-person edition back in November 2019. Cloudflight expects a similarly high response for the upcoming event.

Among the over 30 co-organizers worldwide, this year for the first time the Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics of the renowned Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich is also involved in the competition. On-site participation in the contest is possible in about 20 cities around the world. “After a long dry spell, we are very hopeful to be able to hold the contest in person again. The CCC is an absolute highlight for us, for it brings together the most gifted programming talents. A competition of this size creates a completely different atmosphere as an in-person event,” says Jörn Petereit, Managing Director and COO of Cloudflight.

The 35th edition of the contest will feature Artificial Intelligence. As an add-on to its established “School” and “Classic” categories, for the first time there will be an AI challenge, in which the contestants will have to solve a complex machine learning task. “In the context of digital transformation, the corporate deployment of AI will become increasingly relevant. Computer vision, natural language processing and machine learning are therefore essential areas in which we develop custom software solutions together with our clients. That’s why we are more than happy to be able to give the topic an even greater relevance with the AI challenge,” Petereit adds.

The contest will take place in full respect of the current corona hygiene measures. For more information about the event, as well as for the registration link, click here.
