In a rapidly changing market, the company aims to simplify the usability of all appliances and for the various user groups. Handling the appliances appliances should be just as error-free for untrained personnel as it should be simplified service by specialist personnel. The DEBAG vision: one platform for the whole ecosystem.
The Challenge
From a single source: operating concept & UI design for a diverse product portfolio
To date, all electrical appliances in the DEBAG product portfolio have been equipped with independent and different operating modalities. However, the variety of operating options not only makes it difficult to maintain the devices, but also harbors the risk of incompatibilities and maintenance problems. The challenge now is to develop an operating concept and UI design that can be used across all devices.
The solution
Innovative operating concept & intelligent platform for optimized production processes
An operating concept and UI design that can be used across all devices is being developed. This vision aims to create a seamless and uniform user experience. The standardization of operating modalities should not only increase user-friendliness, but also facilitate the care and maintenance of the devices. In collaboration with the Cloudflight Germany GmbH, a platform is being developed for DEBAG's products that enables both automatic and manual control of the processes.
Through the web on embedded application D-control, programs can be created and set directly on the device via the display. Animation-guided processes, the implemented event system and a role-dependent display support employees in their work. The cloud-based application D-connect is being introduced to complement the application on the device. It networks all of a customer's devices using MQTT communication and thus enables centralized monitoring. Findings can then be fed back to the individual devices, creating an even more efficient production process.

As a traditional mechanical engineering company, DEBAG offers a product portfolio of ovens, proofing and cooling ovens and the appropriate accessories. Different areas of application are served here, from small chain stores to food retailers and large bakeries with various appliances. The majority of sales are generated by ovens for the food retail sector.
