Munich, April 5th, 2023 – The Cloudflight Coding Contest (CCC), one of the largest on-site programming competitions in Europe, celebrated its 37th successful edition on March 31, 2023. With 45 locations in 15 countries, roughly 4,000 coders competed in the categories of School, Classic, and AI. Thanks to new partnerships and sponsors, the event grew even more this year.
New cities and partnerships
For the spring edition of the CCC, we forged numerous partnerships and opened new locations. In addition to previous sponsor GLS, Trumpf SE & Co. KG also hosted the event in Stuttgart. On top of that, an information partnership was established with the German IT job portal GermanTechJobs.
Renowned universities such as the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences and the University of Lille in France as well as the Johannes Kepler University Linz in Austria once again opened their doors to the CCC. With the support of the student council of TU Darmstadt, the competition was also held there for the first time.
Overall, the event experienced strong growth in France, Poland, Romania, Germany, and Austria. Fall Edition of the Cloudflight Coding Contest
Preparations for the fall edition of the CCC on October 20, 2023 are in full swing. Once again, companies, universities, and other organizations have the opportunity to participate by expanding an existing venue or hosting their own. About the Cloudflight Coding Contest
The Cloudflight Coding Contest pits thousands of programmers from around the world against each other in a level-based coding game in the spring and fall every year. The difficulty increases with each level, and the winner is who completes the highest level in the shortest amount of time. The topics of the games are kept secret until the event.
CCC participants can compete in three different disciplines. The event kicks off in the morning with the two-hour School Coding Contest, designed specifically for students up to 19 years old. This is followed by two parallel contests in the afternoon. In addition to the traditional Classic Coding Contest, which is based on an algorithmic game, there’s also the AI Challenge. In the AI Challenge, established in 2021, participants have to solve a complex machine learning task. Participants can choose which programming language to use and whether to work individually or in a team.
