Going Supersonic with Hyperloop
Partnering up with a disruptor in the mobility sector - the future of the public transportation system

A revolution in public transport
Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HTT) is a collaborative organization founded in 2013.
The goal? Revolutionizing locomotion over long distances. It consists of over 800 highly specialized technicians, scientists, and creators from 38 countries. We, as an investor and developing partner, are one of these specialists and we have been supporting Hyperloop since 2015.
Hyperloop stands for an eco-friendly, efficient, and safe way to get from A to B. The transportation system allows the passengers to travel at the speed of a plane. Moreover, it will produce more energy than it consumes.

The challenge
Free long-haul transportation
The current mobility ecosystem is facing challenges like climate change, inefficient usage of resources, poor road safety, scarce mobility solutions, no transparency regarding delays, and expensive tickets despite public benefits. The ambition of Hyperloop is to offer either free or inexpensive costs to users, but this is, of course, not a business model for survival.
Hyperloop moves between two sectors: transportation on the one hand, data on the other.
Since the transportation part is supposed to be affordable, the goal is to leverage data.
The question, of course, is: how?

The solution
Revolutionizing business models
The idea was to have a travel search engine that walks the users through their trip: by purchasing several steps of the trip, such as hotel, taxi, or public transportation through this engine, traveling on Hyperloop becomes cheaper for the user.
We took this concept one step further and thought of using an AI to recognize the type of user and to bundle passengers, giving additional margin to Hyperloop, and further price advantages to the users.
What we did was implementing showcases and prototype for booking hotels, as well as a way to change means of transportation even during the trip in case of delays. On top of that, we implemented a trip recommendation system where users could search for point-to-point trips and get recommendations for transportation options.
We also implemented a simulator framework for passenger flow: if there were 2,000 people going from A to B, and another 100 going from C to D, the system would match this with planes and other means on transportation.
Another showcase we implemented was for an affiliate program: if you are in the hyperloop for an hour or more, you can answer a questionnaire from a research institute, claiming rewards they could spend in Hyperloop trips or at a partner at the destination (e.g. get a Starbucks coffee).
