Munich and Wolfurt, Austria, May 23, 2023 – Cloudflight, one of the leading full-service providers in the field of industrial digital transformation, and LTW Intralogistics, a full-service provider in the intralogistics sector, have jointly developed an innovative graphical user interface for intralogistics systems. The “LTW LIOS Cockpit” is a modular system that takes the next step in terms of usability.
Intralogistics systems are highly complex systems that require coordination and harmonization of various technical disciplines such as mechanics, sensors, and actuators. Added to this are data streams on goods in motion, also called material flow systems (MFS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other information from logistics companies and their service providers. The operation of these user interfaces often requires a complex training program and sometimes involves risks due to operating errors on the part of the employees. To ensure smooth processes, LTW Intralogistics developed a highly intuitive user interface that enables simple and efficient operation. Thanks to Cloudflight’s many years of process and development experience in the field of industrial digital transformation, these requirements could be implemented together.
The LTW LIOS Cockpit is a browser-based application that fully visualizes intralogistics systems and enables monitoring and control of the trades within the system. Designed as a web application, employees can access the system from anywhere and monitor the control of the system and orders. Thanks to the visualization, all relevant data of the system down to the programmable logic controller (PLC) level are always visible, and malfunctions can be identified and located immediately.
Bernhard Peter, Managing Director at LTW Intralogistics, says: “The collaboration with Cloudflight is a real asset. The mixture of technology transfer, the ability to bring technology know-how to the system, and the cross-industry experience from other software projects was a huge advantage for us. In addition, we appreciate the future-oriented and partnership-based approach.”
Johannes Matiasch, Project Lead at Cloudflight, adds: “We have been seeing increasing digitalization in the hardware sector for years. However, what is often neglected is a good user experience and integration capability of the software solutions. If neither is provided, the efficiency gains in the execution of daily processes are lost because customers and their service providers cannot optimally integrate the solutions or even cope with the handling of the software solutions. LTW Intralogistics has consistently done the right thing here and allowed customer feedback to flow directly into development. Together, we have developed intuitive and highly efficient software that sets new standards in intralogistics.”
